This exquisite Kani shawl features a vivid blue field, replete with gold, blue and purple floral and smaller badam designs. The thinner border is similarly decorated in a contrasting colour scheme. The shawl's fringed borders feature stripes in blue, purple and green.
Originating in the Kanihama region of Kashmir, Kani work shawls are woven from Pashmina yarn. What sets Kani apart from other Pashmina shawls is the technique using needles crafted from cane or wood. The weaver then meticulously weave the intricate designs.
