The black medallion is surrounded by intricate Jamawar embroidery with large paisley patterns and spiralling decoration in hues of red, blue, pink, cream, and green. It is further decorated with vividly colour borders on either side in designs & shades of green, blue, yellow, and red. While the paisley pattern originated in Persia and India, it found popularity in Europe in the 18th and 19th century.
