Sachin Kumar: The Divine Feminine in Surreal Forms

In Sachin Kumar’s own words

I am Sachin Kumar Delhi based artist and working from last 13 years. I usually work with acrylic on canvas. My paintings are based on the most beautiful creation of God that is WOMEN. Indian mythology and ancient world history revolves around women only. Another name of beauty is Women. Men need women throughout his lifetime i.e. from his birth till death weather she is his mother, sister, friend, girlfriend, wife or daughter

Origins and Background:

Sachin Kumar a Delhi-based artist, completed his BFA from college of art, New Delhi in 2010

He is a contemporary Indian artist known for his deeply introspective and surreal works, often focusing on the divine, spiritual, and transformative aspects of life. His paintings are heavily influenced by his philosophical outlook and a strong belief in the power of the feminine spirit. Women often take center stage in his art, represented in surreal, dreamlike forms that invoke both divine grace and an ethereal quality

Art Style

His works are often rendered in soft, flowing forms, and recognizable human figures, especially women. These figures are usually placed within dreamlike settings, surrounded by elements of nature—flowers, butterflies, and ethereal light. His use of colour is particularly striking, with soft pastels and luminous blues, greens, and yellows giving his works a celestial feel.

Themes

Sachin Kumar is deeply inspired by the concept of the divine feminine. His art frequently explores the role of women as nurturers, creators, and spiritual guides. In his works, women are often depicted in serene, meditative states, their eyes closed in contemplation or prayer, radiating a sense of inner peace and wisdom.

Rajan Krishnan: Chronicler of Nature & Environmental Consciousness

Origins and Background

Rajan Krishnan, a celebrated Indian contemporary artist from Kerala, is known for his deeply rooted connection to the land and environment.

Rajan Krishnan, born in the Thrissur district of Kerala, is one of India’s most respected contemporary artists. His journey into the art world was unconventional. After completing a Bachelor’s degree in Economics, Krishnan decided to follow his passion for art, enrolling in the B.F.A. (Painting) program at the College of Fine Arts in Thiruvananthapuram. He later pursued a Master’s degree at the Faculty of Fine Arts, M.S. University, Baroda.

Krishnan’s art is deeply sensitive to the landscapes of Kerala, where he spent his childhood. The fields, villages, and natural environment of his youth played a central role in shaping his artistic vision. His early works were sentimental, capturing his memories of home and childhood, but as his style evolved, Krishnan’s work took on a more assertive tone, reflecting the sweeping changes wrought by industrialization and environmental degradation.

Art Style

Rajan Krishnan’s art is rooted in realism, yet it carries an unmistakable sense of mythic grandeur. His paintings often depict the natural world—agricultural fields, trees, plants, and animals—with painstaking attention to detail. His later compositions often feature vast, desolate spaces, hinting at the environmental destruction that has transformed the region.
