World Autism Awareness Day 2023

Reading Time: 4 minutes

Taare Zameen Par and Koi Mil Gaya are the two most awesome movies in Indian cinema that are based on topics of mentally challenged incidences. We just love the central characters of these two films. Dyslexia was the most googled term after the release of Taare Zameen Par. We could feel the helplessness of Ishan. His life would have been in misery had he not found a compassionate teacher in Amir Khan.

In Koi Mil Gaya we could feel the agony of Rohit. He was mocked but thanks to the superpowers from Jaadu he could take a sweet revenge. These are not such stories but real-life situations. It’s an awakening call for society to get up and start helping such individuals who face a spectrum of disorders that impact their nervous system thereby affecting their emotional, social, and physical health. Such people find it hard to communicate and interact, find things like bright lights or loud noises overwhelming, stressful or uncomfortable, etc. Such a syndrome is termed Autism. Autism can make daily aspects of life more difficult, so there needs to be an awareness of it. An initiative should be taken to break down the barriers that people who suffer from autism face.
